Fans of MasterChef: The Professionals can step into Marcus Wareing’s shoes and enjoy a menu inspired by the dishes that clinched victory for St Andrews chef Jamie Scott.
Rocca Restaurant in St Andrews has launched a special lunch menu to celebrate head chef Jamie’s triumph on the hit BBC Two programme just before Christmas.
The 27-year-old from Arbroath received huge acclaim from judges Marcus, Monica Galetti and Gregg Wallace for the food he served up in the final.
You can watch the moment Jamie, surrounded by family and friends, was revealed as the winner here.
After a surge in bookings at Rocca following the broadcast, the decision was made to open the restaurant for lunch twice a week.
And to celebrate Jamie’s success, the kitchen team has crafted a menu which gives lunchtime diners a taste of the food that wowed three culinary heavyweights.
To start is an Arbroath Smokie veloute with East Neuk crab and apple.
This is followed by a main course of smoked sirloin of Orkney Beef with glazed shortrib, cep puree and saltbaked celeriac.
Dessert is a Brillat Savarin cheesecake with lemon, macaroon and meringue.
Adrian Pieraccini, owner of Rocca, said: “We were all so proud of Jamie’s victory on MasterChef and the food he served up was phenomenal.
“We’ve worked closely with Jamie and executive chef Davey Aspin to create this MasterChef inspired menu and we’re sure it’ll get 10 out of 10 from diners.”
Rocca is open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays between 12.30pm and 2pm.
The three-course menu costs £25 and there is a two-course option for £19.50.
The Rocca kitchen is led by Davey Aspin, who has worked for some of the most iconic chefs in the country including Marco-Pierre White at The Oak Rooms and Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road.
Overlooking the world famous 18th fairway of the Old Course, Rocca was one of the few restaurants in the UK to earn three AA Rosettes in 2013/14.
