Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Kirkcaldy.
The incident happened around 2.30pm on Sunday at the Malkhas Minimarket, on the corner of Birnam Road and Fair Isle Road.
A man brandishing a weapon entered the shop and demanded money from the woman cashier. He made off with a three-figure sum leaving his victim visibly upset by her ordeal.
The suspect is around 5’7 tall, of medium build and was wearing a distinctive dark-coloured possibly navy cagoule of the type you pull over your head. He had the zip up and was wearing a green scarf covering his face.
The jacket had cream drawstrings around the neck.
Detective Sergeant Craig Fraser, who is leading the enquiry said: “The man was seen to be loitering in the area before he went into the store, and I am urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who witnessed this robbery to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively can provide the information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
