Nurses bitten and kicked by man in Dunfermline hospital
ByThe Courier Reporter
A former patient at Dunfermline’s Lynebank Hospital who bit one nurse and kicked another on the head has been placed on a restriction of liberty order.
Alexander McIlravie, 23, whose address was given as Lynebank Hospital, admitted that on October 28 2013 he assaulted a nurse by biting him on the body and butting him on the head.
He also admitted that, in the same incident, he assaulted another nurse by kicking her on the head.
Depute fiscal Cheryl Clark told Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday that McIlravie was a resident at the hospital at the time.
When McIlravie was told, after asking a staff member for a cigarette, that no smoking was allowed at that time, he “stormed off in a bad mood”. The depute fiscal said McIlravie then returned and “began to lash out violently”.
The court was told that McIlravie is no longer at Lynebank and has been living in the community since September.
Sheriff Craig McSherry imposed a restriction of liberty order on McIlravie for eight months.
