A 22-year-old Dunfermline man has been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged charity collection scam.
He was arrested by police after claiming to be collecting funds door-to-door for a sponsored sky dive in aid of a cancer charity.
PC David Moffatt said the alleged incident highlighted an ongoing issue involving suspicious callers throughout the area.
He added: ”People should err on the side of caution when dealing with anyone who calls at their door especially those requesting money or bank details.”
