Woman taken to hospital after house fire in Freuchie

A woman was taken to hospital after a fire at a house in Fife on Monday afternoon.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews from Glenrothes fire station were mobilised just after 4pm to a two storey property on Queen Street, Freuchie.
A team of four firefighters tackling the blaze wearing breathing apparatus and extinguished a fire in the living room using two hosereel jets.
The crews provided oxygen therapy to a woman who appeared to be suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation. The woman also suffered some burns to her hands.
She was taken to hospital after being assessed by paramedics.
Cutting away operations were conducted as firefighters continued working inside the property to ventilate and check for any hidden fire spread.
Officers from the SFRS Fire Investigation Unit are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire.
