A 30-year-old man is in custody in connection with two serious sexual assaults which took place in St Andrews last month, Police Scotland have confirmed.
The man is expected to appear at Cupar Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Officers would like to thank the public for their considerable assistance with this investigation.”
Officers made several witness appeals last month in connection with the incidents.
A 27-year-old woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault between 12.15am and 2.10am on Wednesday April 9. She was last seen walking with a man on Doubledykes Road at around 12.55am.
The second incident happened at around 1am on Thursday April 10, when an 18-year-old female student was indecently assaulted while walking in the university grounds.
