The St Andrews institution that is Jannetta’s Gelateria has been revealed as Scotland’s favourite ice cream shop.
The ice cream parlour scooped the top prize in the 2014 Golden Cone awards, a competition run by cone and wafer manufacturer the Waverley Bakery.
Jannetta’s, on South Street, won the award after the public voted for their favourite place to enjoy ice-cream.
A shortlist of the top 10 destinations was announced and it was up to a panel of judges including Heart radio star Cat Harvey, actress and writer Libby McArthur and ice cream industry expert Jean Pearce to decide who would take the title.
Owner Owen Hazel said: “To be awarded the 2014 Golden Cone Award is an incredible honour and we are so grateful to all our staff and customers for their fantastic support; we couldn’t have done it without them.”
