Referendum Roadshow: No votes way out in front in Burntisland and Crossgates
ByThe Courier Reporter
The Courier Independence Referendum Roadshow visited Burntisland and Crossgates at the end of our second week on the road.
In Burntisland our straw poll showed a victory for the No vote, which gained 60.5% of all votes cast.
Sam Watters, 78, said: “I don’t like the attitude of the Yes people.
“They’ve not come out and said what they would do if we did become independent or explained how it would work.”
In the Yes camp was Jill Rodger, 52, who said: “I have always believed that Scotland is better managed by the people who live in Scotland rather than by someone down south.”
In Crossgates the victory for the No camp was even more emphatic, with 80% of the vote.
