Scottish Government approves Fife primary school closures

Fife Council has been given permission by the Scottish Government to proceed with the closure of three primary schools.
Preparations will now begin for the closure of Wellwood, in Dunfermline, and Dunino Primary Schools in October of this year.
Tanshall in Glenrothes will close its doors in July 2015.
The Scottish Government had “called in” the decisions for scrutiny.
Scottish ministers now say that “having looked at the totality of what has been considered by Fife Council” they are “satisfied that the council has fulfilled its obligations under the 2010 Act”.
