Fife sales manager banned from road after being caught driving doing 103mph

A Fife man who drove at more than 100mph to attend an “important work meeting” has been banned from the road.
Andrew Cormack, 33, of Neilson Grove, Burntisland, admitted driving at 103mph on the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen road on April 9.
Police using a laser recorded Cormack’s Mercedes A-Class on the dual carriageway at Parkford.
At Forfar Sheriff Court on Thursday, his defence agent said he would be likely to lose his job as regional sales manager for Clear Check if he were to lose his licence.
He added his client drives for the equivalent of 30,000 miles a year and was heading to a meeting.
Sheriff Gregor Murray said: “I know the A90 very well. I know at that time of day it’s very hard to get over 100mph.
“That, in line with your previous convictions and number of points on your licence, means sadly I must disqualify you from driving.”
Cormack was disqualified for four months and fined £325.
