What’s the best way to take part in an ice bucket challenge?
For pupils at Balmullo Primary School, the answer is when you get to inflict one on your teacher.
In response to the worldwide internet craze that has seen millions dousing themselves in cold water to raise money for charity, the Fife school today staged a mass soaking of all teachers and non-teaching staff.
The wild scenes were held to raise money for motor neurone disease research.
The pupils and parents counted down and then cheered loudly as the teachers met their freezing fate.
Head teacher Anna Coggins said: “It’s great to raise awareness of motor neurone disease.
“We’ve been lucky with the weather, and we’re just delighted.”
The fun occasion was organised by admin assistant Joyce Normand, who decided to honour her nomination by doing something a little bit different.
She thanked her colleagues for braving the cold, and all those in the school community who have donated to charity.
She said: “It was very cold, very wet but we’re all very happy.
“It’s been great fun.”
