A Fife man has appeared in court in Dundee accused of assaulting his former girlfriend and sending her threatening text messages.
John Lamont Brand, 44, of Watson Avenue, St Andrews, denied three charges dating back five years when he appeared on Thursday.
He denies that, on July 1 2009 in St Andrews, he assaulted the woman, c/o Police Scotland, by seizing her by the neck, compressing her neck and pinning her to the floor.
He also denies behaving in an aggressive manner, shouting and swearing at her and committing a breach of the peace.
Brand further denies that between December 19 and 20 2013, at the same address, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear and alarm, in that he repeatedly sent the woman threatening and intimidating text messages.
The case had been due to go to trial in June but solicitor Gary McIlravey said there had been seven requests by the defence to the crown for disclosure, and there was a problem with the latest request for mobile phone information, which was not complete.
Depute fiscal Keith Robertson told the court there had been a large amount of disclosure already sent to the defence.
Sheriff Charles McNair continued the case to Thursday for further disclosure to be made.
