Warden warning for Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre parkers
ByThe Courier Reporter
Worries over parking at a Fife leisure centre are to be addressed by traffic wardens, it has been confirmed.
Fife Council has said it will deploy wardens to monitor parking at the Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre after complaints were made about the number of vehicles parking in disabled spaces without blue badges.
There has also been anger levelled at drivers parking on nearby pavements to access the £15 million facility, which opened its doors to the public last year.
However, Fife Council has confirmed wardens are to start taking action against motorists who illegally park in disabled spaces, after a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) was granted.
Although a firm date is not known, monitoring of the area is expected to begin imminently.
A local authority spokesman also told The Courier a separate TRO is being sought to implement double yellow lines on roads around the building to prevent vehicles from blocking access routes.
