Fife Reelers Ball Committee has raised almost £5,000 for Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland and For the Love of a Child at its 2014 ball.
The event, held in Younger Hall and lower College Hall, St Andrews, helps support a different Fife charity every year.
Kirstin Burnett and Debbie Butler met Donna Jenkins of For the Love of a Child and Kathryn McCann of Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland’s Fife branch to hand over the cheques.
It is hoped the two organisations will plan a joint project.
The Fife Reelers start their new season’s practices in Ceres Town Hall at 6pm on Sunday October 5 in preparation for next year’s ball.
Lindsay Murray, ball convener, said: “We tackle some quite serious dances as well as the standard ones but we build up gradually.
“New recruits join us early in the season and we start gently. It is amazing what fun they have and how they progress.”
