Tay Road Bridge works delayed for Alfred Dunhill Links Championship traffic

Tay Road Bridge surfacing repair works scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
With the tournament being played between St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, the works have been delayed to prevent traffic problems.
There will now be a contraflow on the bridge over the weekends of October 10, 17 and 24, with one full carriageway closed to enable works to be carried out unhindered.
The works will take place each weekend from Friday until Monday between 7.30pm and 6am.
A Dundee City Council spokesman said: “A temporary 30mph speed restriction will be applied across the bridge during the working programme.
“The main works will mean that there will be temporary restrictions on the B946 link road to Newport and Tayport, but diversions will be in place.”
Abnormal and wide loads will not be allowed to cross the bridge during the works, while cyclists can only use the shared central walkway/cycle track.
