A scuplture has been unveiled in Abbey Park in St Andrews.
The apple sculpture was the winning design in a competition run by house builders Robertson Homes and St Leonards School.
It was designed by former St Leonards head girl Charlotte Lorimer and will be a feature of the Robertson housing development.
Charlotte’s Apple of Life represents knowledge, discovery, innovation, courage and beauty and was part of her International Baccalaureate art project.
The building firm has realised her design in bronze for its Abbey Park development.
A delighted Charlotte, who is starting her first year at Durham University, said: “It feels amazing that my sculpture is going to be on permanent display here in St Andrews.
“The icing on the cake is that so many of my friends and family were here to join me for the big reveal.”
John Murphy, managing director of Roberston Homes, said: “Charlotte has created a piece of art which will be enjoyed by future generations for many years to come.”
The sculpture was crafted by Rory Thomas from steel in three weeks, and recycled steel, silicone and paint were used to give the bronze finish.
