A 21-year-old man is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today charged with a serious assault in Glenrothes at the weekend.
The arrest follows what police described as a ”callous and unprovoked” attack in Keith Drive in Tanshall on Friday night.
The injured victim was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where his condition was not known.
The scene was cordoned off with police tape overnight on Friday and for much of the day on Saturday, and officers were seen searching the area with torches during the night.
Detective Inspector Stuart Morris, who led the inquiry, thanked the public for their vigilance and help on the matter.
