The community of Aberdour could be on the cusp of global fame.
Already renowned for its award-winning beach, stunning coastline and historic castle, the village will soon become known to American TV audiences as one of the settings for hit series Outlander.
Filming for the second series of the show got under way in Aberdour on Thursday and will continue on Friday.
The castle and its gardens have been closed to the public since September 4 to prepare for the film crew and will reopen on Friday September 19 once the area is reinstated.
Based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling novels, Outlander has become a favourite with US audiences since it premiered there last month.
VisitScotland chairman Mike Cantlay said: “The television series is potentially huge for Scotland and could well be our answer to Game of Thrones.”
