Fife strongman to help welcome Ryder Cup fans to Scotland
BySteven Dinnie
A Fife strongman is among ordinary Scots who star in a new film created as part of welcoming the Ryder Cup to Scotland.
Jamie Barr, who lives in Kingskettle, can be seen tossing a caber in the film.
It will be projected onto a special 100-foot-wide screen at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow as part of the opening of the event.
Jamie said: “I was delighted to be asked to be involved in this fantastic film, which welcomes the Ryder Cup to Scotland.
“As one of VisitScotland’s Meet the Scots ambassadors, I am always keen to get involved in anything which promotes this fabulous country to the rest of the world.”
Created to show that Scotland is a nation of diversity in arts, culture and history, ‘Highlands to the Hydro’ takes viewers on a picturesque journey through glens and lochs and captures the real people of Scotland, including Jamie tossing a caber.
