VIDEO: Buckhaven baker turns up the heat with fiery Phaal pie

A Fife baker is attempting to heat up the Scottish winter with what could be the hottest pie in the world.

Stuart’s of Buckhaven has launched the “fiery pie”, an Asian slant on the traditional chicken pie, with a warning it is not for the faint-hearted.

Containing Phaal, the hottest curry available on sale in the UK, the makers have also decided to garnish their latest creation with mixed chillies, just in case it was not already hot enough.

Such is the potency of the pie, retail chain Scotmid is challenging people to eat it at its stores in the Edinburgh area.

T-shirts will be awarded to anybody who finishes a pie.
