ByThe Courier Reporter
A man has admitted killing his nephew after a 12-hour drinking session in Fife.
David Clark, 61, stabbed 45-year-old Andrew Clark after the pair returned to David Clark’s flat in Forth View, Kirkcaldy, after a night out following a relative’s death from cancer.
Following Clark’s attack, the victim went to bed after applying dressings to his knife wound but was found covered in blood shortly afterwards.
Despite the efforts of his girlfriend, David Clark and paramedics to revive him, Andrew was declared dead.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard a stab wound to the right thigh damaged the femoral vein.
David Clark admitted killing his nephew and assaulting him on August 7/8 by seizing him by the throat, punching him on the body and stabbing him.
The High Court heard the argument stemmed from an argument about the deceased’s father.
Clark was originally charged with murder but admitted a reduced charge of culpable homicide.
Lord Kinclaven called for a background report.
Clark was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing.
Andrew Clark lived in Glenrothes but was originally from Aberdeen.
