A Glenrothes football club has appealed for help to build for the future.
Glenrothes Strollers is embarking upon a £100,000 fundraising initiative to construct a purpose-built clubhouse at Overstenton Park in the town.
It is estimated £1 million will be required to fund the project, with significant donations already secured.
However, in order to gain access to funds from sportscotland, the club must raise £100,000.
“The club currently has eight small changing rooms within a row of old cabins,” said John Buchanan, club chairman. “They were old and second hand when purchased, then renovated by club volunteers. We now have badly leaking roofs and holes in the floor.”
The club received a huge boost last year when Fife Council offered £300,000 of funding towards the project, a sum that would be matched by sportscotland if the club’s £100,000 target can be reached.
The public is being urged to help by buying individual bricks at £10 each. Further options allow individuals and companies to have their names printed on the bricks.
“The new facility would give us 12 large changing rooms with toilets and showers, as well as a fitness room, first aid room and cafeteria, all within a bright modern building,” added Mr Buchanan.
