ByThe Courier Reporter
Labour has selected a businessman to fight the Fife Council seat vacated by the local authority’s former leader, new Cowdenbeath MSP Alex Rowley.
The local Labour party has chosen Alex Campbell, a well known businessman, to be its representative.
Alex, a former Scottish international boxer, is the owner of North Road Garage in Kelty, a business he has built up over the last 20 years with his wife Caroline.
Mr Campbell said: “I was involved in putting together Fife Labour’s manifesto in 2012 working up the proposals for apprenticeships and jobs and I am delighted that over 500 new apprenticeship and training places have been put in place over the last two years.”
The by-election will take place on May 22.
