A Dunfermline man has admitted assaulting a woman in the Thornton home of tragic toddler Liam Fee.
Sean Catherall’s case was called at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Friday.
The 27-year-old, of Haig Crescent, is charged with assaulting Nyomi Fee in April last year.
He punched her on the head, pulled her hair out and shoved her to the ground where she struck a table, injuring herself, at an address in Donald Crescent, Thornton.
Ms Fee is the civil partner of Rachael Fee, the mother of two-year-old Liam who died in an incident in the house last month.
Police said the death was due to a “tragic set of circumstances” and that they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The couple, who made a commitment in a civil partnership ceremony a year ago, were said to be making a fresh start far from their home town of Newcastle.
Catherall admitted that, on April 14 2013, at an address in Donald Crescent, Thornton, he assaulted Nyomi Fee, and grabbed her, punched her head, pulled her hair out and pulled her to the ground whereby she struck a table, all to her injury.
He was due to be sentenced by Sheriff Max Hendry but did not appear.
Catherall’s solicitor Raymond Wachtell said he had no explanation for his absence.
Sheriff Hendry issued a warrant for Catherall’s arrest.
