Gordon Brown is moving to Glenrothes but the former Prime Minister is not shifting seats to oust his Labour colleague Lindsay Roy from his Westminster seat.
Rather, Scots Emmy-nominated writer and director Kevin Toolis is bringing his play about the darkest secrets of Downing Street, the stab-in-the-front plottings, the betrayals and, most importantly, hair gel, to the region.
And, since the show is just about on the Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath MP’s patch, he’s invited Mr Brown along to the show.
Mr Toolis said: “It would be fantastic but I’m not sure he’ll be able to make it along.
“In many ways he’s our greatest failure as a Prime Minister in 200 years. The reason I say that is he was a great man with so many great qualities who was faced with negatives.”
After a change of actors, from Perthshire-born Ian Grieve to Billy Hartman who formerly played Terry Woods in Emmerdale, the play is back on track.
It has had success in London’s West End and the Edinburgh Festival but was controversially banned from the Labour Party conference in Brighton last year.
The Confessions of Gordon Brown is at the Rothes Halls next Saturday.
