Missing person traced after helicopter search in Fife

A police helicopter hovered in the skies over Kirkcaldy after reports were received of a missing person.

The chopper was sighted over the east end of the town and Dysart shortly after 6am on Saturday.

Residents of the area were woken by the noise of the helicopter, which they said had circled over Ravenscraig Park for around half an hour.

Police Scotland confirmed this morning that a vulnerable person had been traced successfully.
