Dramatic scenes unfolded on Cowdenbeath High Street after a fire broke out at a tanning shop.
The blaze broke out inside Tan Express just before 8pm on Thursday.
Four fire appliances from Dunfermline and Lochgelly attended along with one height appliance from Kirkcaldy.
Police were also in attendance and the majority of the HighStreet was cordoned off for most of the evening.
Local resident Tricia Algeo said: “I heard that the fire started after a sun bed went ablaze but one of the young girls who worked in the shop managed to get everyone out before it spread.
“Thank goodness nobody was hurt.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The fire broke out in the ground floor of the premises.
“All the staff and customers were out of the building by the time we got there.”
Duty sergeant, Don Sutherland said the blaze was not being treated as suspicious.
He added: “There were people in the building when the fire broke out but I am pleased to say nobody was injured.”
