Decisions on north east Fife wind turbines plans deferred

North east Fife councillors deferred decisions on two separate wind turbine proposals to allow for site visits.
The area planning committee considered plans for a single 54.5m high turbine at Cornceres Farm, Kilrenny, and a 67m high structure at Lochmaloney Farm, Rathillet.
During the meeting on Wednesday, concerns were raised about the cumulative impact of turbine developments.
Councillor Margaret Kennedy raised the issue in relation to the Kilrenny proposal.
She said: “There are quite a lot, in my opinion, approved or pending turbines there.”
Meanwhile, the committee heard an application for an 87m turbine at Wester Kilmany, which was refused by the committee on the grounds of scale, cumulative impact and detrimental impact on the landscape, had been approved by a Scottish Government reporter.
Service manager Alastair Hamilton said the Wester Kilmany turbine had been taken into consideration when the Lochmaloney Farm plans were drawn up.
