Police have issued a fresh appeal for information about a fatal road accident which happened in Fife earlier this month.

Road policing officers from Police Scotland are investigating the collision which happened on the A909 Burntisland to Cowdenbeath road near the Bernard’s Smithy junction around 7.30pm on Sunday April 6.

Mardell Dick, 72, died following the collision between the Ford Ka in which she was a front seat passenger and a Ford Fiesta.

Police are keen to trace the driver of a white Leyland DAF minibus which stopped at the scene.

They are also keen to speak to the driver of a black hatchback which was also seen near the collision site.

Police also believe a male cyclist stopped at the scene and may have witnessed the collision. He was wearing blue clothing and may be able to help police with their inquiries.

Sergeant Andy Mather said: “These additional witnesses may hold vital evidence which can assist our inquiry.

“We are appealing to them to get in touch with Police Scotland by calling 101.”
