Still no breakthrough in investigation into death of Thornton toddler Liam Fee

Mystery still surrounds the death of Fife toddler Liam Fee.
Nearly two months after the two-year-old died in what police described as a “tragic set of circumstances” at his Thornton home, little light has been shed on the cause of his untimely death.
This week his death was registered by police with the cause logged as “unascertained, pending the results of further investigations”.
Liam, who was believed to be autistic, made his home with his mum Rachael, her partner Nyomi and his twin older brothers Matthew and JJ.
The family, originally from the Newcastle area, lived in a flat in a quiet cul-de-sac in the town with a menagerie of pets, including snakes.
His death brought sorrow to the village as the community rallied round with outpourings of grief and sympathy.
In the days following the tragedy floral tributes were placed at the family home, including one with the message: “You are the largest star in the sky that is shining bright”.
