A Fife firm is feeling magnificent over a starring role in Disney blockbuster Maleficent.
The award-winning vintage retailer Scaramanga has supplied props to add to the fantasy backdrop of the re-imaging of the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty starring international superstar Angelina Jolie.
The firm, a regular haunt of movie and TV props buyers, provided a range of medieval-looking pieces for use as action props in the filming of Maleficent in Buckinghamshire in 2012.
They included vintage trunks and chests, brass boxes, vintage fabric, tikka pots as well as chapatti tins.
After seeing some of them used in scenes the company, with branches in Cupar, St Andrews and Edinburgh, is hoping to see the latest chapter in its own fairytale story continue with a boost in trade.
The firm, founded in 2006 by Carl Morenikeji, is no stranger to Hollywood it supplied antique brass padlocks for Bilbo’s house in The Hobbit and trunks for a Liverpool Docks scene in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows.
It also supplies props for a string of TV shows, including Hollyoaks and Holby City.
Last weekend was almost a double feature for Scaramanga as it also supplied one of its handmade leather messenger bags to the Tom Cruise sci-fi movie Edge of Tomorrow, which opened then too.
However, the bag sadly ended up on the cutting room floor.
