St Andrews cyclist tragedy: police trying to find pedestrian involved in accident

Police are trying to track down a pedestrian involved in a fatal accident with a cyclist in St Andrews.
The man was walking in Bridge Street near to the junction with Kinnessburn Road at around 3.50pm on Friday when he was involved in a collision with a passing bike rider.
The pair both fell into the road but the man was not seriously injured and continued on his way.
Tragically, the 63-year-old cyclist suffered serious head injuries and later died having been rushed to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
Police Scotland said they are keen to identify the mystery man.
Sergeant Iain Hutchison, who is leading the investigation, said: “Police are still trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and we are eager to hear from members of the public who were in the area at the time of the collision.
“In particular we would like to speak with the male pedestrian involved in the collision. We would like to stress this is just to assist with our enquiry.”
