The people of Inverkeithing voted overwhelmingly yes to an independent Scotland. The Courier’s referendum roadshow poll carried out in the town showed 62% support for the Yes campaign and 38% to the No. Voting yes, Danielle O’Brien said: “I have researched quite a lot and feel the Better Together campaign has been really negative. “I feel Scottish people should have a Scottish government making decisions for Scotland.” Having said that, Danielle said Labour would probably get her vote in an independent Scotland. Also voting yes was Fiona McGarry, daughter of local SNP councillor Alice. “It would be better for Scotland. I want a greener Scotland,” Fiona said. In the no corner was Christine Clark who felt there had not been enough information. “What are we going to do about employment and apprentices?” she asked. “I also feel to give the vote to 16-year-olds is wrong. How can they vote when they have no life experience?” Picture by David Wardle
