Search for owner of stray snake found in Dunfermline flat
ByLeeza Clark
The search is on for the owner of a young snake found in a Dunfermline flat.
The Scottish SPCA was alerted to the runaway after a member of the public discovered the snake lurking in his home in Gilfillan Road on Saturday.
The two-foot cornsnake is now receiving the care he needs and has been nicknamed Archie.
Animal Rescue Officer Joanna McDaid said: “Snakes are fantastic escape artists and can squeeze themselves through the tiniest of gaps, so it may be the case that Archie has simply strayed from home.
“Unfortunately, none of the neighbours recognisedhim or knew who he might belong to, so we also can’t rule out the possibility that he may have been abandoned. We’re appealing to anyone who recognises him to get in touch.
“If no one comes forward to claim him, we’ll find him a permanent new home where he’ll get the care he needs.”
