Police hunt after toddler hit by off-road motorbike in Kirkcaldy
ByLeeza Clark
Police have appealed for witnesses after a Kirkcaldy toddler was struck by an off-road motorbike in a hit-and-run incident.
The two-year-old was taken to hospital after the incident near Tempehall Avenue at about 2.10pm on Tuesday.
The incident happened on a grassy area and the child suffered minor injuries.
Community Sergeant Jimmy Adamson said: “The rider of the bike did not stop and remains untraced.
“The rider is described as wearing a black or grey top and was not wearing a crash helmet. The bike was black.
“We are confident people in the local community will know who was riding this motorbike when it collided with the child and we would encourage them to contact us with the person’s name.
“We do not believe that the collision was deliberate and it appears to be accidental.
“However, it yet again emphasises the risks and dangers from anti-social use of motor bikes in public places.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 or via Crimestoppers.
