A Dunfermline locomotive has been on the move for the first time in over two decades.
The engine, which been at Pittencrieff Park for 23 years, left for restoration work on Tuesday.
The work will be carried out at the Shed 47 Railway Restoration Group, based at the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum at Lathalmond.
The engine came from Bilston Glen Colliery and is a reminder of the days of steam. It also provides a link to the park’s past involvement in the coal industry.
Built by Andrew Barclay Sons & Co Ltd at the Caledonia Works of Kilmarnock in 1934, it will be restored to its former glory at Shed 47 before being returned to the park in the summer.
