ByThe Courier Reporter
A WOMAN was cut free from her vehicle yesterday following a collision with a lorry in Kirkcaldy.
The 79-year-old was removed from the Vauxhall Astra after coming into contact with a Mercedes truck at the junction of Dunnikier Way and Park Road at around 1.30pm.
Officers from Fife Constabulary closed the busy route to all traffic while ambulance and fire crews tended to the woman.
Fife Fire and Rescue Service removed the roof of the car before she was extracted on a spinal board.
Ambulance crews transferred her to the Victoria Hospital, where she is said to have escaped with minor injuries.
The road was gritted to make the surface safe following the fuel leak before being reopened to traffic.
