Gallery: Bill Clinton given ‘warm welcome’ in St Andrews
ByThe Courier Reporter
Former US President Bill Clinton hailed the Old Course at St Andrews as “fantastic” as he enjoyed a round of golf over the famous old links on June 21. He was visiting Scotland with the Clinton Foundation, and was playing ahead of speaking at the Scottish Business Awards. His surprise visit left onlookers and visiting golfers startled as he arrived on the first tee unannounced and with no great fanfare. But Mr Clinton happily posed for photographs and said: “As I find every time I visit this part of the world I have been fortunate to receive a very warm welcome and enjoyed the hospitality for which you are so famous. It’s always great to come to Scotland and I look forward to returning again in the future.”
