The villages of Lower and Upper Largo came out strongly in favour of Scotland remaining as part of the United Kingdom when The Courier roadshow visited.
Our informal poll produced an emphatic victory for the Better Together campaign in Lower Largo, with 82% of votes for No and 18% for Yes.
In Upper Largo the count was closer but still produced a clear victory for the No campaign, with 67% opposed to independence and 33% registering Yes.
However, the Yes campaign were provided with some cheer, with one Yes voter claiming he had been swayed after realising that his decision wasn’t only about him, but was about his children and grand-children.
He claimed that if he had been asked 12 months ago, he would have definitely been a No voter, but had changed his perspective when he decided that the country could potentially change for the better.
