The Byre Theatre of St Andrews Ltd is now officially in liquidation.
It was confirmed this afternoon that Graeme Smith, insolvency partner with accountants Henderson Loggie, has been appointed as liquidator.
The Byre Theatre hosted its final performance on January 31st and its board had announced five days prior to that date that they had no alternative but to cease trading given the organisation’s financial position.
Fife Council has expressed optimism that the theatre could re-open by the end of summer under a new management structure between Fife Council and the Fife Cultural Trust.
