A man is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with the murder of Latvian national Aleksandrs Sokolovs.
The body of the 29-year-old was found in a property on Tummel Road in Glenrothes on Monday, April 13.
Detectives from Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team carried out a significant enquiry before arresting and charging a 28-year-old man with his murder.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Aleksandrs’ family they said: “Aleksandrs was a very friendly person who loved to travel and experience different cultures. He was a loving son and brother and will be missed by all persons who knew him.”
The body of Mr Sokolovs was found when police were called to his home in the Balfarg area amid concerns for his welfare.
