A man subjected a woman to a campaign of threats of violence, a court has heard.
Keiran Connelly, described as a prisoner at HM Prison Perth, appeared on charges of harassment and intimidation at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old admitted that he knew Sarah Louise Farrell was a potential witness against him and so repeatedly phoned with threats to her and her family.
Connelly admitted embarking on the campaign in a bid to force her to withdraw her police statement ahead of an impending court case.
The court heard that Connelly had warned her she had to withdraw her statement and that she should tell others to do the same.
Connelly had also contacted other people asking them to join in the intimidation against her.
The case at Dunfermline Sheriff Court in Fife called in front of Sheriff Craig McSherry.
Connelly was previously jailed in February and is not due for release from prison until September this year.
He admitted that on various occasions between May 19 and June 8 last year at HM Prison in Perth, at Bighty Crescent in Glenrothes and elsewhere, he engaged in a course of conduct which caused Sarah Louise Farrell fear or alarm by repeatedly telephoning, leaving messages on her phone and repeatedly shouting and swearing.
Connelly further admitted that between May 19 and June 6 last year, in the knowledge that Sarah Louise Farrell was a potential witness against him in criminal proceedings and had given a statement to police, he repeatedly phoned her, told her to withdraw her police statement, told her to get other witnesses to withdraw their police statements and repeatedly threatened her and her family with violence.
Sheriff Craig McSherry called for reports.
Connelly will be sentenced on May 13.
