Firefighters worked into the night to contain a blaze which broke out at the Quaker Oats plant near Cupar.
The alarm was raised shortly after 9pm when workers discovered what was described as a small fire on the fifth floor of one of the large hoppers situated at the Uthrogle Mills complex.
Two appliances from Cupar, one from Glenrothes and one from Auchtermuchty were called out to the scene.
Fire service personnel used one hose reel and thermal imaging equipment as they extinguished the fire, but crews were expected to be on site into the early hours of the morning to cool down the kiln.
