Drunk man threatened off-duty police officer after stag night
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Kirkcaldy man who threatened an off-duty policeman on a train after a stag night in Edinburgh has been fined £750.
Martin Clark, 46, of Dallas Drive, owner of a mechanical engineering firm, became involved in a row started by a female stranger he sat next to on a packed train during the Edinburgh Festival.
When an off-duty British Transport police officer tried to calm the situation, Clark told him: “You better get away or you’re getting it next.”
Clark admitted to Sheriff Charles Macnair that on August 23, on a journey between Waverley and Inverkeithing stations, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence.
