Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses after a large portion of expensive astro turf was stolen from a bowling green.
Approximately 15×2 metres of artificial grass worth a three-figure sum was removed from the Dovecot Park Bowling Club on Dovecot Road in Glenrothes sometime overnight on Monday May 18.
PC Lindsay McPherson said: “This theft has caused considerable disruption.
“We are carrying out enquiries in order to recover the turf as quickly as possible and I want to take this opportunity to appeal to public for their help.
“Anyone who has any information that can help with our investigation is asked to call police on 101 or, alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
