Police appeal after malicious fires at Fife sheltered housing complex
ByDave Lord
The lives of elderly residents sere put at risk during two incidents of what police have termed “wilful fire-raising” at a Fife sheltered housing complex.
The incidents occurred between Thursday, May 21, and Saturday, May 23, at Saunders Court in Kirkcaldy.
Police say an unknown number of suspects attempted to set fire to the door and window of two properties belonging to elderly female residents.
The fires have been described as “the culmination of a series of anti-social behaviour incidents which have occurred over the last few weeks”.
Police Constable Mike Daglish said: “Fortunately these fires have not taken hold and burnt out quickly, however they have caused much distress to the elderly residents who have been targeted.
“We are appealing for any information regarding these incidents.
“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact police immediately.”
Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
