The poor animal, which had been reported missing, was found stuck in a ditch opposite the Bonnybank Inn in Cupar Road, Kennoway. The horse, which is around 20 years old, also appeared to have become tangled in a wire fence. Two fire crews from Methil and their colleagues from the heavy rescue unit in Lochgelly rushed to help the stricken horse. They used animal straps wrapped around its body to support it out of the ditch. Firefighters also dug a trench around it to make it easier to get out. Happily, the horse didn’t appear to be injured after its ordeal.
