A crook who was caught using a chocolate Kinder Egg container to hide heroin in his backside has been sent to prison.
Matthew MacDonald, 47, was rumbled after police raided a house on Alexander Road, Glenrothes, in October 2014.
The High Court in Edinburgh heard how detectives, who were acting on a tip-off, found heroin in the property.
Another person in the house then told police that MacDonald was hiding more drugs in his anus.
Prosecution lawyer Ross MacFarlane told judge Lady Wise: “MacDonald was taken by police to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where he was examined by a doctor.”
Police then discovered that the heroin seized during the raid had a maximum street value of £840.
The story emerged after MacDonald, of Glenrothes, pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of drugs.
The court heard MacDonald had previous convictions for drug dealing. Lady Wise sentenced him to 31 months and 15 days.
