Plans to turn an empty shop into a hot food takeaway have been rejected by west Fife planning committee.
Kyle Douglas wanted to transform the vacant ground-floor shop on the corner of Thistle Street and Townhill Road in Dunfermline, but the application drew 22 objections and eight letters of support.
Objectors were concerned about the lack of parking, road safety, the impact on the mainly residential area and its potential to draw anti-social behaviour to the area.
“The proposal will result in a significant increase in on-street parking close to the junction, obstructing both visibility and the free flow of traffic at this junction to the detriment of road and pedestrian safety,” said a report by manager Mary Stewart.
