Man killed in accident involving motorcycle and car in Fife

A 66-year-old has died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in west Fife this morning.
The man was the driver of a motorcycle which collided with a white Citroenvan on the A985 west of the Limekilns junction at around 11.40am.
Emergency services attendedthe incident and Police Scotland officersclosed the roadat McKane Park, Dunfermlinefor several hours while they carried out investigations.
An air ambulance was alsosent to the scene of the collision near the small village ofCharlestown.
The helicopter was requested by the Scottish Ambulance Service trauma team.
Afemale who was also travelling as a passenger on the motorcyclewas also injured in the crash.
She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where her condition was described as “serious”.
The road reopened to traffic shortly after 4pm and Police Scotlandare keen to speak to anyone who saw a white Citroen van or a red motorcycle in the area this morning.
